The world’s got Bieber fever, and the only cure is for him to host and perform on the show that asked for more cowbell.
The singer confirmed this morning via Twitter that he is set to pull double duty on the Feb. 9 episode of Saturday Night Live.
“So the word is out… it is true… im Performing and HOSTING SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on FEB 9th!!! GET READY! #NothingIsOffLimits #BELIEVE,” he wrote.
Justin Bieber joins a long list of other performers who have both hosted and performed on SNL, including Bruno Mars, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger.
The announcement comes a mere two days after the teenage heartthrob played a sold-out show at the Pepsi Center and met fellow teenage icon and Olympic gold medalist Missy Franklin. It also comes a week after he was caught (allegedly) smoking a blunt.
Bieber last performed in NBC’s legendary Studio 8H as a musical guest in 2010, and has since performed in numerous sketches… as well as this tremendously classy SNL Digital Short. He joins Denver’s the Lumineers this season, as the band will perform on SNL this weekend on Jan. 10.
