Academy Award nominees: Adele, Arcade Fire, Jonny Greenwood could be in the mix

On Thursday the nominees for the 85th Academy Awards are announced, and along with the names Quentin Tarantino, Ben Affleck and Steven Spielberg could be Adele and Arcade Fire.

The Oscar categories of Best Original Song and Best Original Score tend to fly under the radar, as does some of the music that artists or bands compose for movies. Did anyone realize that Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs made a song for “Frankenweenie” or that Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead composed “The Master” score?
