Toro Y Moi – “Anything in Return” (1/21, Carpark)

Toro Y Moi is dropping its third full-length later this month, but two singles have been released on YouTube. “So Many Details” is rich in groove and layers, indicative of the more serious tone producer Chaz Bundick has taken for the new album. He’s as sexy as ever, admittedly, but the percussion is starker and the beats subdued. But there’s still some room for fun; “Say That” provides an alternative with its dance-minded melody and upbeat tempo.
