Big Boi joins André 3000 for the first time since 2006By Ru Johnson | January 2nd, 2013 | No Comments »
If you label OutKast as one of the most important groups in hip-hop, few will argue against you. Sadly, the legendary hip-hop duo of André 3000 and Big Boi has been on hiatus for quite some time. Now it looks like we might see the two At-Liens on a track together again. It’s been a long wait.
André 3000 collaborated with Frank Ocean on the track, “Pink Matter,” off the R&B singer’s debut, “Channel Orange.” The song is a salacious and slinky track chock full of seduction and blush-worthy rhymes paired both Ocean and 3000 together perfectly.
Word on the streets (aka Big Boi’s Tumblr page), Daddy Fat Sax will be adding a verse to the song as well. This might be the OutKast reunion we’ve been waiting for, and if it’s not, we’ll still take it. Big Boi posted a sketch of notes he’s writing for what will be a new verse to the track. The new version is set to drop next week.
Since the hiatus Big Boi dropped a number of albums, including “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors” to much rap fanfare and positive reviews, while André was a guest feature for a number of hot releases early last year.
