Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus make 2012’s list of most charitable stars

By Allison Sylte

Taylor Swift’s charity this year went beyond dating barely legal boybanders. She also gave $4 million to the Country Hall of Fame Museum, a donation big enough to earn her the honor of the this year’s top “celeb gone good” by DoSomething.org.

The 23-year-old country music star (whose career has been defined largely by dating EVERYONE and then singing about it) was also cited for being the youngest person ever to win the Ripple of Hope Award from the Kennedy Center Honors (it probably helped that she dated a Kennedy), as well as her work helping young people with cancer.

Other musicians on the list included Miley Cyrus for her work with animals, Lady Gaga for her $1.2 million donation to her Born this Way Foundation and Justin Bieber for his Believe Charity Drive.

Pink, Jay-Z, Beyonce and Justin Bieber’s maybe ex-girlfriend/nemesis Selena Gomez were also included in the top 20.
