Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood not hiding in Brazil waiting for Mayan apocalypseBy Kelsey Fowler | December 13th, 2012 | No Comments »
It’s the end of the world as we know it, or at least, it’s rumored that Dec. 21, the conclusion of the Mayan calendar cycle, marks a potential apocalypse. But Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood doesn’t seem too concerned, despite reports to the contrary.
Numerous Brazilian media sources stated Greenwood was hiding out in a local hotel awaiting the doomsday date. The Daily Mail reports that representatives of the rock band have since then denied the reports.
Tourism Minister Eduardo de Oliveira Coelho had told the Folha de Sao Paulo news site that Greenwood has been at the hotel since the start of December, and that his Radiohead band members will be joining him nearer to the catastrophic date.
Greenwood and his fellow bandmates are clearly not all too worried about life post Dec. 21, except perhaps about a city in the future.
