Mile Marker: Deer TickBy Reverb Staff | October 12th, 2012 | No Comments »
To put it simply, Deer Tick has been one of our favorite live bands for several years. The Providence, R.I. group plays a mix of garage, country, punk and folk and wears its influences on its collective sleeve while still managing to sound wholly unique. The guys rolled up to Uneven Studio a few months ago with morning beers in hand, cigs lit and ready to pound black coffee in our engineer Bryan’s kitchen before laying down the live tracks. “Main Street” translated especially well during this day’s session, which included a pair of covers that we can’t post due to licensing restrictions (hint: Replacements and Beastie Boys). Stream or download all four songs at your leisure — that’s why we put ‘em there.
