New Pretty Lights track, watch Big Gigantic at Red Rocks, South of France on Holy Underground, more music newsBy Julio Enriquez | October 4th, 2012 | No Comments »
I think we can all agree that Pretty Lights is pretty benevolent when it comes to giving away his music for free. When unintended material hits the Interwebz, it kind of ruins it for the artist. That was the case with the newly-leaked Pretty Lights track “So Bright.” Instead of playing like the kid that just takes his ball home so nobody else can use it, PL has done the opposite by making the track readily available for free on his website. Head over here to check out Reverb’s coverage of his visit to Red Rocks this past August.
Welcome to Holy Underground, South of France
Newly-minted one stop shop Holy Underground has welcomed South of France to its roster. The Denver collective is adding new acts like baseball cards. Look for South of France to release the forthcoming album, “Another Boring Sunrise,” this fall. I wonder if the album title has anything to do with Commerce City?
Ghost Pixel project + Big Gigantic + Red Rocks
Those of you that made your way to Red Rocks for Big Gigantic last week don’t need us to tell you about the incredible 3D mapping display produced by Ghost Pixel. Check out Reverb’s review of the Boulder duo’s triumphant homecoming show here and watch a video of the night below.
Tjutjuna jams its “Desert Song”
I would love to sit in on a practice session with the guys from Tjutjuna to see just what goes into their sprawling jams. Take a listen to the ambitious “Desert Song,” the first cut off a forthcoming release from Fire Talk Records on Nov. 6. Look for the band on tour with Woods and at CMJ in NYC later this month.
