Will.i.am to make last-minute Denver appearance in support of ObamaBy John Hendrickson | October 3rd, 2012 | No Comments »
Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am. will make a last-minute Denver area appearance in support of President Obama on Wednesday afternoon alongside Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, Reverb has learned.
The pop producer, rapper and longtime Obama supporter will be the main attraction at a “special grassroots event” at De Boer Park (2505 South York Street) taking place Wednesday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m.
The event is not associated with DebateFest — a nonpartisan day-long festival on DU’s Carnagie Green featuring performances by the Lumineers, Nathaniel Rateliff and Zach Heckendorf. The event description on my.barackobama.com does not clearly state whether or not the rapper will perform.
Will.i.am has been an outspoken supporter of Obama for several years. Fans might remember his 2008 viral video, “Yes We Can,” which famously put highlights of Obama’s 2008 campaign rhetoric to music.
