Lookin’ snappy, ey? Photo via Rockmount’s Facebook.

Esme Patterson flaps her wings

<

Esme Patterson of Paper Bird has left the nest. Don’t worry, it’s not permanent. The chanteuse has decided to try her hand in more rock-oriented music with a little help from her friends. The list of contributors to her debut LP, “All Princes, I,”  reads like a who’s who of Denver musicians (Nathaniel Rateliff, Ben DeSoto, Roger Green). It will released nationally Nov. 20 through Greater Than Collective. Check out the first single from the album below.

Slash handpicks In the Whale as openers

Denver duo In the Whale was handpicked as an opening act by all-time Guns ‘N Roses shredder, Slash, as part of a nationwide contest. The duo entered the Guitar Center OnStage contest that picks 20 acts to open up for the curly haired wonder on his current U.S. tour. The best act after the 20 shows wins a grand prize of $30,000. Not too shabby. The guys opened up for Slash this week at the House of Blues in San Diego. Good luck, fellas! Photo via the artist’s Instragram account.

Tennis serves up an ace to Mandy Moore

Tennis has been canoodling with Pax Am Records lately. Most recently, lead vocalist Alaina Moore (above) appears to be tearing up a studio session with noneother than Mrs. Pax Am Records, Mandy Moore. Pax Am is the brainchild of Moore’s husband, Ryan Adams, of course. Photo via Tennis’ Facebook.
