Coldplay to release “Mylo Xyloto” comic at Comic-Con this weekendBy Reverb Staff | July 11th, 2012 | No Comments »
Thursday marks the first day of Comic-Con in San Diego and a whole new chapter for Coldplay.
The band is planning to debut the first of a six-part comic series, which tells the story behind its newest album, “Mylo Xyloto.”
“Kung Fu Panda” director Mark Osborne worked with Coldplay band members to write a story about Mylo, who is on the front lines of a war against sound and color.
The first comic will be unveiled during a panel on Friday. (No members of the band are participating, just the product team). The remaining five will be released monthly starting in February 2013.
A note on the band’s website stated that the group had the idea three years ago for a character named Mylo Xyloto — “xylo” as in “xylophone,” “to” as in “toe.”
