We’ve noted it before: It seems like everybody has a summer concert series these days. But the downtown Rock Bottom Brewery location on the 16th Street Mall has had a live music series in the summertime longer than most.
The chain restaurant’s Music at the Bottom series isn’t the most creatively curated or artistically inspired, but it’s undeniably popular. And it’s also celebrating its 20th year this summer – impressive staying power for any art-rooted programming.
Modeled after the popular Friday Afternoon Club concept – with the patio opening at 6 p.m. and music starting at 7 p.m. — the series presents music to unwind to. So loosen that tie, grab a pint and ask that attractive woman giving you the eyes if she wants to dance.
Here’s the schedule for summer 2012’s Music at the Bottom series, which rocks the 16th and Curtis streets location every Friday from July 6 to Aug. 24:
July 6: Moses Jones
July 13: Bop Skizzum
July 20: Funkiphino
July 27: Jakarta
Aug. 3: Soul School
Aug. 10: Opie Gone Bad
Aug. 17: GAM (Grown Ass Man) Band
Aug. 24: Rob Drabkin
