Robotic Pirate Monkey remixes, Tennis has a perm (and video), Red Rocks wants to keep you fat, more music news

Robotic Pirate Monkey has successfully put its dubstep stamp on the classic Fat Joe/Lil Wayne track “Make It Rain.” The remix will be the first of many this summer via RPM’s website. Look for the trio opening up for the dancetastic UK act Simian Mobile Disco on May 31 at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.

Tennis has better perms, “Better Self”

America, if perms come back, you can thank Tennis‘ Alaina Moore. Not since the heyday of Jody Watley has the perm been front and center and with such moxy. Check out Tennis’ video for “My Better Self” as I try to figure out the deal with the creepy old guy at the end.

Best Cinco de Mayo video that involves a canine and In the Whale

The promotional video plugging the upcoming show by In the Whale will either have you laughing uncontrollably or cringing in pure disgust. The aforementioned show with In the Whale will take place over at Herman’s Hideaway on Cuatro de Mayo. The video is relatively NSFW, btw.

Slim Cessna’s Auto Club managed to pilfer through the the Prelinger Archives for public domain footage, and all they found was material inspired by the Great Depression. A tad morbid on first thought, but when it’s Slim we’re talking about, there’s nothing out of the ordinary.
