If STS9’s “Great Cycle Spectacles” tour sounds familiar, that’s because it played two nights at the Fillmore Auditorium in January. But the Mayan calendar-themed show will return to Colorado in a few months for a big summer play at a venue all too familiar to STS9 and its fans.
Yes, Red Rocks. And promoter Live Nation announced this morning that STS9 will only play one night at the amphitheatre as a part of its “Great Cycle Spectacles” tour.
STS9 will take over Red Rocks on June 16. The band is hyping the date with this intense verbiage: “STS9 is proud to present ‘The Great Cycle Spectacles’ of 20-12. A series of one-of-a-kind performances celebrating the end and beginning of the Mayan calendar cycle. Come let go, live free and enjoy the mysteries and pleasures of life with us. ‘The Great
Cycle Spectacles’ will be coming to a limited number of locales in 2012, and we hope each and every one is as near to you as we can make it. Be prepared to take a journey like no other this coming year. We are. In Lakesh … I am another yourself …”
Well, O.K. then. Tickets, $39.50-$45, will go on sale at noon Saturday at livenation.com.
