NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Country singer Miranda Lambert doesn’t get why controversial R&B star Chris Brown was allowed to perform twice at the Grammys on Sunday.

She tweeted on Monday: “He beat on a girl…not cool that we act like that didn’t happen.”

Brown beat up then-girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammys in 2009. He pled guilty to an assault charge and was sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor.

Lambert suggested Brown listen to her song “Gunpowder & Lead” about avenging domestic violence and “be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.”

She attended the Grammys in Los Angeles with husband Blake Shelton who was a double nominee. Lambert joins a slew of others who questioned the move on social networks.

The Grammy-winning singer is known for hits including “The House That Built Me” and “White Liar.”

A message left seeking comment from a representative of Brown’s wasn’t immediately returned.

Good for Miranda. The police report of the attack on Rihanna is chilling. He beat her savagely in a moving vehicle and threatened to kill her. Not cool at all.

they left out the part where Rihanna was the abuser first. She used to hit him all the time. he just got fed up and hit back.

Good for her! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one wondering why his sorry ___ wasn’t boo’d off stage.

He wasnt booed off stage because he earned his award just like everyone else who won. people get over it. This has been done and over with for awhile now and its time to just move on. I think that if she has moved past it and forgiven him then its no one elses business what happens between them. I am not surprised that because he won someone would try to bring him down. Just be happy for the accomplishments that people have made in their personal and professional lives and worry about what you need to be doing to make sure you win an award. He screwed up but he’s trying to do better and as long as people keep bringing this crap up he is never going to be completely rehabilitated. No one said the man was a saint!
