Can’t Hardly Wait: James Taylor to hit Red Rocks this summerBy Ricardo Baca | February 6th, 2012 | 2 comments
Some might think James Taylor an anachronism, but the folkie played a massive role in the popularization of acoustic and folk music in the ’60s and ’70s.
Think about Taylor’s monster records – including 1970’s “Sweet Baby James,” which is as seminal to folk as “Back in Black” is to rock – and you have some classic songs that are still valued for a reason. And surely Taylor will dust a few of those songs off when he headlines Red Rocks this summer.
Taylor will play Red Rocks on July 23, promoter Live Nation announced this morning. Tickets, $57.85-101.70, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.
Will we get “Steamroller,” “Country Road,” “Fire and Rain” or “Sweet Baby James?” He’s usually savvy enough to bring out at least a couple of those songs.
