RJD2 brought his signature electronic sound to the Bluebird Theater on Friday. An eclectic style that blends jazz, hip-hop and electronic beats, RJD2 played a mix of crowd favorites from the albums “Deadringer,” “Since We Last Spoke,” “The Third Hand,” and his latest effort “The Colussus.” While Wick-It the Instigator and Human Agency did their best to energize the audience when they opened the show, crowd energy seemed to lag at several points throughout. Regardless, RJD2 worked frantically to build sonic landscapes with his four turntables and two beat machines, and those in the audience that caught the vibe were rewarded with an excellent Friday show that ventured far outside the Colfax norms.
