Don’t Push Play: Jimmy Fallon merges Tebow and Bowie for late-night goodnessBy John Hendrickson | January 13th, 2012 | 6 comments
Jimmy Fallon will never have the improvisational, reactionary “quip” skills that made late-night hosts Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Conan O’Brien cultural icons. Perhaps more so than all of the above, though, Fallon has mastered the art of the parody. From Neil Young to Charlie Sheen, Fallon loses himself in the character and executes. In “Tebowie” below, the vocal cadences and trance-like Bowie gaze are impressive enough, let alone the lyrics that correspond effortlessly to “Space Oddity.”
The bigger issue: Do you think the Zac Brown, Lady Antebellum-loving Tebow even fully gets the joke?
