Oh, Starling wishes you a Merry Christmas
Oh, Starling has teamed up again to release a holiday-inspired EP,”Noel,” available for sale here. This year’s EP is the second in two years from the enchanting twosome celebrating the holiday season (“Joy” was released last year). Each EP contains five Christmas standards reinterpreted by the duo to firmly capture the essence of this special time of year.
The Lumineers lays down a Fuel Friends’ Chapel Session
Heather Browne at the always friendly Fuel Friends music blog has slowly started recording her favorite artists in a quaint chapel in the Colorado Springs area for almost a year. In that time, sessions have been recorded with artists such as the Head and the Heart and These United States. Most recently, the Lumineers’ session from this past July has finally seen the light of day that you can download/listen to over here. A strong congrats is in order, because Paste Magazine also named the band one of the “20 Best Bands of 2011.”
Yes, more Christmas music compilations from Fire Talk and Act So Big Forest
Denver record label Fire Talk has Samurai Buck doing a chillwave take on “Santa Baby” and Woodsman doing a hazed out jam of “Little
Stoner Drummer Boy” that’s available for download/stream below. The Act So Big Forrest presents “Golden Ring,” the fifth installment of mix tapes from the Ft. Collins record label showcasing holiday numbers from Colorado artists and “beyond.” Candy Claws and the Kevin Costner Suicide Pact are among the notables on the 23 track monster of a Christmas mix that you can download over here.
Paper Diamond releases new single for free download
Paper Diamond isn’t familiar with the concept of “Take it easy,” because the DJ/producer is all over the map. Aside from opening for the likes of Tiesto in Dallas for a pre-NYE show, the party will go full-throttle at the SnowGlobe Festival for New Year’s Eve in Lake Tahoe with Bassnectar, the Glitch Mob and Pretty Lights, to name a few. Expect the forthcoming EP “Paragon” to be released next year, however, fans can calm their hunger for new Paper Diamond with a free download of the latest slow simmering single,”Better Things,” below.
