What do you get when an elementary school glee master tries to teach the honor choir how to rap? It might not be Rakim, might not even seem like Common sense at first, and there’s definitely no Immortal Techniques at play. But it can be damned entertaining.
Glee master Travis Branam found DJ Cavem on Twitter and the two began collaborating for a performance with the Denver Public Schools Elementary Honors Choir, the first known instance of the DPS combining hip-hop with education. “I’m just happy the kids remembered the words,” said Cavem with a laugh, “It was too much.” Check out the performance at Manual High School earlier this month:
