Talk Talk: Tennis gets busy, Yelp gets old, Force Publique sets up shop, plus new “Swag” in townBy Julio Enriquez | November 9th, 2011 | No Comments »
Reverb was first to report that Tennis is working with half of the Black Keys on its forthcoming album, and even juicier news has come our way. The first taste off of the forthcoming album,”Young and Old,” (due out February 14 on Fat Possum) is a single entitled “Origins.” It’s the signature Tennis sound with a punch and the single will be released via Gorilla vs Bear’s imprint Forest Family Records as a double A side that you can purchase here.
For those of you who watch “Grey’s Anatomy” and were wondering if the clip used in the softball scene the other night was Tennis, you weren’t hearing things. “The High Road” graced the long-running series (by my estimation, every cast member has hooked up with each other AT LEAST ONCE). Recently, the band also covered the Zombies’ classic track, “Tell Her No,” which you can download below. The duo’s original plans of touring with the Vaccines fell through, and since have chartered out a new tour with Miniature Tigers.
For you CSU students, Fort Collins residents or those free to take a trip up north on I-25, Tennis will perform at a block party thrown by the good people over at Adult Swim on Walnut St, between Linden St and Mountain Ave. The soiree takes place November 11, from 7-11 p.m.. You can get all the deets here and RSVP here.

Come celebrate Yelpapalooza 3.5
This is not a paid endorsement. When in doubt about something to eat, I always check Yelp. It’s how it works and it never fails. I’m eternally grateful to Yelp for all the assistance these years and have slacked on doing reviews. Yelp will be celebrating the YELPAPALOOZA 3.5 this Friday over at Stoney’s Bar and Grill over on 11th and Lincoln. Reverb columnist, DJ Savior Breath
Eryc Eyl, will be handling the decks between sets of a stacked night of great local acts. See the lineup below and RSVP over here.

Swag, Swag, Swag
There’s a new beat in town, and it moves to the sounds of new Denver-based music blog, Swagger. Their launch party functions as the Lykke Li afterparty this Friday, November 11, over at Beauty Bar. Admission is FREE and will feature multiple DJs. My question is if the kids over at Swagger swag as they blog?
