Mile Marker: Dead Man Winter

Trampled by Turtles shocked and awed many of us during this year’s Telluride Bluegrass festival, so when we had the chance to have TBT lead vocalist/songwriter Dave Simonett and his side project Dead Man Winter come by Uneven Studio, we jumped at the chance. Far from the frenetic, shredding banjo stylings of TBT, Dead Man Winter plays a deeper, more musing brood of alt.-country and folk rock akin to their Minneapolis neighbors, the Jayhawks. “Wasteland” is a road song if there ever was one, and definitely one of our best Mile Marker performances this year. Stream or download the three songs below, burn ‘em to a CD and take them on the highway this weekend. Trust us.

    Hey guys, great stuff!

There must be some problem with my browser but I cannot stream or download the Mile Marker tracks anymore. I was able to download the “Cowboy and Indian”-Session last week (thank you, btw) but none after that :( Any ideas how to fix that?
