Pretty Lights finished his victory lap at Red Rocks and the Fillmore a couple of weeks ago (check out our Red Rocks review here). Pretty Lights is about to start a massive tour that will see his way through Austin for Austin City Limits and ending in Nashville for Halloween.
Willie Nelson covers Coldplay for Chipotle
Willie Nelson has always lent his voice to the agricultural community (see Farm Aid) and his work with Denver-based Chipotle is no different. Chipotle has put together a two-minute animated spot that will appear before feature movies this month at your local cinema that will portray the differences between regular farming methods favored by most of corporate America and methods approved by Chipotle. Willie Nelson covered Coldplay’s “The Scientist” for the short and blew (insert pot joke) all minds with the twang-tinged cover.
Design Radio 1190’s next T-shirt
The Radio 1190 folk are about to start their Fall 2011 pledge drive and they’re looking to get a new design for their T-shirts. Feel free to send all designs (make sure they’re 300dpi) in jpg, pdf, or png format. But make sure that you save a copy .psd just in case the design needs to be edited. John Common and Blinding Flashes of Light had a burst of recording power when they wrapped up their LP, “Beautiful Empty.” So much, in fact that there was enough left over to put out their forthcoming EP, “SIDE3.” The six-song EP includes a Tom Waits cover and fans can score the EP for free when they purchase tickets here to their September 24 show over at the Soiled Dove.

Brad Corrigan from Dispatch helping out with Teach for America benefit
Dispatch’s Brad Corrigan, a Littleton High School graduate, is lending his talents to a very great local cause, Teach for America. For those unfamiliar with Teach for America, it’s a non-profit organization that sends the best and brightest aspiring teachers for two years to economically challenged areas. The upcoming show will have Corrigan team up with the Moderators, SpyMonkey and Also Like the Wind for the “Appetite for Instruction” benefit September 9 over at the Ogden Theatre.
