Hot Shots: Friday night @ ChloeBy Quoleena Sbrocca | August 1st, 2011 | 4 comments
If anyone is curious about the club scene in South Beach, save the airfare, and jet it to Chloe, Denver’s newest LoDo nightclub on Market Street, in the heart of the 2 a.m. “gauntlet” run. Exquisitely designed, the layout offers many areas to roam and places to lounge. We are fresh off the first look photos, and Chloe is even more exquisite in action.
As someone who lived in Miami for long enough to understand the “Je ne sais quoi” — the superficiality — that long-standing Miami residents loathe, it is uncanny how Chloe managed to import that very essence of the South Beach vibe to Denver. The clientele on Friday night was mezza mezza, the first half being, thankfully, Denver-cool. The darker half, however, was fully on display with disproportionate snobbery, making me wonder if they’d been partying it up in LoDo all along and had simply congregated like a swarm of bees to this newest hot spot.
After spending a good chunk of time there (relishing in the cool design and decorative flavor), I say, “Welcome to the neighborhood, Chloe,” but please leave the unsavory attitudes at the door.
