Cameron McGill and his band, What Army, came through Uneven Studio on a Saturday morning in April before their show at the Walnut Room that night. It was a long, delicate, session with a few re-starts and second tries. Can you blame them? These dynamics are hard to come by, and the harmonies are some of the best we’ve heard in the intimate quarters of the studio. “Sad Ambassador,” in particular, has movement and feeling that makes for a distinctly personal listen.
