Photo essay: Beats Antique @ the Boulder TheaterBy Glenn Ross | April 11th, 2011 | No Comments »
The Boulder Theater was set afire by musical trio Beats Antique on Friday, with multi-instrumentalists David Satori and Tommy Cappel laying deep rhythms that swept the crowd into a rushing blaze. The audience was enraptured by a performance that was animalistic and wild — witness to sound channeled masterfully through the exotic movement of belly dancer/musician Zoe Jakes.
Gifted dancers Auberon Shull and Kami Liddle contributed beautifully to the show, while the band kept people moving during costume changes. It was an evening of true artistry — a stunning display of dress and movement that by its end, left us smoldering in seduction.
