Mile Marker: Vusi MahlaselaBy Reverb Staff | April 1st, 2011 | 1 Comment »
Vusi Mahlasela came through Uneven Studio on a snowy Saturday afternoon in January. He was on tour with Amos Lee and was nice enough to swing by before heading to the Boulder Theater that night for a sold-out show. It was humbling to be in such close quarters with a true living legend — many in his native South Africa refer to Vusi simply as “the voice.” You might recognize the songs above, “Say Africa,” as one of the definitive musical moments of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Enjoy the seven exclusive live tracks below, rife with stories and explanations of how they came to be.
