It takes some mammoth star power to play 87 shows in 19 countries on four continents. And pop-country crossover Taylor Swift has enough celebrity and name recognition to pull it off on her latest world tour, which was extended this afternoon.
“I’m so excited to go back out on tour again in 2011,” Swift said in a statement. “The Fearless Tour was so much fun and even more unforgettable than I ever imagined, and I can’t wait to get back out and play my new music from ‘Speak Now.’ The fans have been so amazing, and I’m thrilled to play in new cities around the world and meet even more of my fans in 2011.”
Swift is the top selling artist in digital music history, and “Speak Now” is one of the few records from the last five years that boasted platinum status –- that’s more than a million copies sold –- in its first week of sales.
Tickets to Swift’s Denver show, $25-$69.50, will go on sale at 10 a.m. on April 8 at tickethorse.com.
