Look, we know how it is. We know this time of year is hard. You’ve been eating like crap since Thanksgiving. Christmas Day put you way over your limit. And you’ve got another New Year’s resolution to lose weight.
Well, Reverb is here to help. This Thursday night, Dec 30, the night before New Year’s Eve, we’ll be kicking off Steal This Track: A Reverb Dance Party at the Hi-Dive.
Did you know that you can burn more than 300 calories an hour by just dancing? That’s more than two PBRS! That makes keeping your weight loss resolution easy.
That’s right. Starting this Thursday — and continuing on the last Thursday of every month thereafter — the Reverb crew will invade one of South Broadway’s most revered indie rock institutions with a night of cheap drinks, local music and absurdly good times. Each month, we’ll have some of Denver’s best musicians, DJs, journalists, actors, managers, fashionistas, record label owners — a veritable who’s who of Denver — as our guests, spinning their favorite new music for your pleasure.
For the inaugural installment of this ridiculously cool event, our guest DJs will include indie rock heroes 200 Million Years, Eric Ten Hoeve of Lil’ Slugger, Backyard Thicket (a.k.a. Reverb’s managing editor John Hendrickson, and phoneboothknifefight (a.k.a. James Irvine & Becca Reynolds of the Vinefield Agency)!
The first 100 people in the door will receive download cards that will give you exclusive access to a compilation of Steal This Track songs, and the lovely and talented bartenders at the Hi-Dive will be pouring $2 PBRs and $3 shots all night long.
And the celebration of all things Denver and musical doesn’t stop there. As Thursday night slouches toward Friday morning, DJ Savior Breath (a.k.a. Reverb columnist Eryc Eyl) will take over, turning the Hi-Dive into a swirling, sweaty dance party with Colorado music you can dance to, mixed with indie gems, top 40 guilty pleasures, ’80s trash and whatever else it takes to make you dance till you drop those pants!
If you like Steal This Track, you’re gonna love Steal This Track: A Reverb Dance Party. It’ll be the place to be if you make local music or just love it. Just like Steal This Track, it’s absolutely free. And it just might help you lose weight!
