Music-loving gov.-elect (and Denver mayor) John Hickenlooper will be sworn into the state’s highest office on Jan. 11, and he’ll cap a very full day off with an inauguration concert from Denver-based multiplatinum act OneRepublic at the Ogden Theatre that night.
Tickets for the concert, which is also advertising “a very, very special guest,” are $75 and available at coloradocando.com, Hickenlooper’s inauguration site.
Colorado Can Do is Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov.-elect Joe Garcia’s inaugural committee, which will make a jam-packed Jan. 11 happen while still “keeping with Hickenlooper’s aptitude for staying, well, frugal,” according to the event’s press release.
“We have been dedicated to doing more with less and this inaugural celebration will be no exception,” Hickenlooper said in the release. “We have no time to waste. Colorado faces many challenges and we will use every opportunity to get our state back to work.”
The swearing-in ceremony is that morning at 10 a.m. on the west steps of the Capitol building, with free, public seating on a first come, first served basis starting at 8 a.m. Hickenlooper and Garcia will host a luncheon for students that afternoon at the Denver Art Museum before heading out to the inaugural dinner at the Fillmore Auditorium at 5:30 p.m., where tickets are $100.
The concert with OneRepublic and the special guest will start at 9 p.m. at the Ogden.
