This weekend: Sunnyside upBy Jason Blevins | September 9th, 2010 | No Comments »
The 8th annual Sunnyside Music Festival takes over Chaffee Park on Saturday, Sept. 11 with a big-fest line-up and a neighborhood feel.
The free, born-in-a-backyard festival features a hip, eclectic collection of local musicians, with folksy jammers Paper Bird on the main stage. Harmonic crooners Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore, funksters Filthy Children, Denver indie star Joshua Novak, the Dyrty Byrds, The Legendary River Drifters and The Pirate Signal will all rock the community party on two different stages.
Local eats will be on hand, with a much-anticipated debut of Brasserie Felix’s Le Steak Frites food wagon. Bring your own cup and save a buck off of Breckenridge Brewery suds as well as support the fest’s zero-waste goal, which will feature recyclable and compostable utensils and plates.
An expanded kids’ area will have a climbing wall, games and special performances. The fest runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. More details here.
