News: James Taylor, Carole King tour to play Pepsi Center

Taylor and King are calling their latest tour “The Troubadour Reunion,” and we’re just fine with that. They will play the Pepsi Center this summer.

Carole King, like Leonard Cohen, is one of the most covered artists of all time. And one of the most famous King covers came from her buddy James Taylor, whose take on “You’ve Got a Friend” was a natural hit.

King and Taylor are touring together, and they just announced a Denver date this morning: The Pepsi Center on July 14. No word yet on when tickets will go on sale.

See this morning’s press release on the following pages.

This morning’s press release:

In addition, Ms. King and Mr. Taylor are also offering fans one-of-a-kind VIP Stage Seats on the North American leg of the Troubadour Reunion tour. Proceeds from the sale of these special tickets will benefit both national and local charities from each of the cities visited on the tour, including the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Alliance for the Wild Rockies, environmental organizations that both Ms. King and Mr. Taylor have championed for years. Available exclusively at www.ticketsforcharity.com, these unique stage seats, arranged in tables of two surrounding the stage, present a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience to see two of the world’s most accomplished singer-songwriters.

The idea for the VIP seating grew out of Ms. King and Mr. Taylor’s desire to create an extraordinary “venue within a venue,” an intimate, club-like setting replicating the intimacy of the duo’s legendary Troubadour performances four decades ago, amidst the excitement of an arena performance.

Charity Packages include:
· One VIP Stage Seat (arranged in tables of two)
· Special access to Carole King and James Taylor’s sound check session before the show
· Pre-performance VIP reception with complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres
· VIP Tour Laminate
· Commemorative Troubadour Reunion Tour Book

Fans can purchase VIP Stage Seat Charity Packages by visiting www.ticketsforcharity.com or calling Tickets-for-Charity at 1-866-567-4576.

Rico – your oldest sister used to love Carole King. Played her “Tapestry” album until the grooves wore out. Too bad you couldn't take her to the show…
