Los Pleneros de la 21 (LP21) is the leading professional Bomba and Plena ensemble in the United States. Based in “El Barrio” — East Harlem in New York City — LP21 preserves the Afro-Puerto Rican musical traditions serving the Puerto Rican and Latino communities in this country.

Los Pleneros de la 21 is performing for three nights in Denver this weekend to commemorate the Denver theater company Su Teatro’s taking occupancy in their new home at the Denver Civic Theatre. These photos were taken on Friday. Remaining concerts are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, and 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at 721 Santa Fe Drive. Tickets $15-$30 and include one free drink.
