News: Matt Morris announces a Denver date

Matt Morris (with his friend/producer Justin Timberlake) threw down a memorable performance at Friday’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon, and now the Denver singer-songwriter has a local date to celebrate.

When we interviewed Matt Morris in advance of him releasing “When Everything Breaks Open,” his debut solo record, his sense of order was unusually backwards. Morris didn’t have a local show to celebrate his record’s release, but he did have a date on David Letterman’s “The Late Show.”

Locals who have seen Morris on “The Late Show,” “The Ellen Show” and a couple other national programs — including Friday’s Hope For Haiti Now telethon, which had him covering Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with his friend and producer Justin Timberlake, as seen above — now have a chance to see Morris perform in his hometown of Denver.

Morris will play a show Feb. 25 at the Bluebird Theater, AEG Live announced today. Tickets, $10-$12, go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.
