Despite the very obvious nostalgia for vintage rock in the New Zealand/Portland, Ore., band, there are tinges of modern influences and even forward-thinking in Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s. The retro, psych rock trio returns with its sophomore album on Feb. 5, but you can stream Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s “II” early via NPR.
