Reg Presley, “Wild Thing” singer dies of cancer at 71

The structure is simple, the guitar riffs basic, the lyrics at best inane, but the Troggs’Wild Thing remains a garage rock classic more than 45 years after its release made The Troggs and lead singer Reg Presley international stars.

Presley, whose raunchy, suggestive voice powers this paean to teenage lust, died Monday after a year-long struggle with lung cancer that had forced him and the band into reluctant retirement, his agent Keith Altham announced on Facebook late Monday night. He was 71.

After much speculation over the past few weeks, a name and release date for the Strokes’ new album have been announced.

It’s not the “All the Time” track that we were waiting for, but the Strokes’ new song, “One Way Trigger” was released today. The track is presumably from the upcoming album that was confirmed this month by Billboard. You can listen to the Strokes’ new song below.



The Strokes confirm new album this year, maybe a new single soon

Looks like we won’t have to wait long to see if the Strokes can release an album that lives up to its landmark first releases “Is This It” or “Room On Fire.” Billboard has confirmed that the band will release its fifth studio album sometime this year.
