Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have announced their third Colorado show this year — all before April.

At some point, indie hip-hop sensations Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will stop coming to Colorado on a monthly basis to push their hotter-than-hot single “Thrift Shop.” That point, however, has not arrived yet.

This year’s Winter on the Rocks went well, with a strong opening from The Grouch & Eligh and an amazing set from Major Lazer, but neither pleased the crowd at this year’s Winter on the Rocks as much as the evening’s main act, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

Here are the best Denver shows that you should be at this week (Feb. 1-7).

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and the Roots on one stage. Talk about a match made in heaven. ?uestlove cleaned house with the added percussion adding a hulkish element to “Thrift Shop.” An already beefy single that’s being played on multiple radio formats on the FM dial.

‘Heads have said for a long time that hip-hop’s heart and soul now resides in the music underground, where indie DJs and lyricists erect an audience one fan at a time through devoted touring and a savvy web presence as opposed to booty girls and gold-toothed bravado. Seattle rapper Macklemore and his wingman, producer Ryan Lewis, proved it Thursday night during a sold-out show at the Ogden Theater. These guys came to work, and delivered a performance that was thoughtful, funny and raw.

After selling out Red Rocks’ first-ever wintertime concert in January, Denver ski-maker Icelantic announced the second edition of its Winter on the Rocks this morning.

Winter on the Rocks will again take over Red Rocks in February 2013 with some hip-hop action that will have the kids shuffling in their (potentially) snowy seats.
