Big Head Todd and the Monsters mark the 20th anniversary of “Bittersweet” at Red Rocks with Trombone ShortyJanuary 18th, 2013
For any young musicians growing up in Colorado, Red Rocks sits on top of a pedestal — both literally on top of a mountain and figuratively as the greatest venue in the region, if not the whole country. This must make it all the more sweeter for Big Head Todd and the Monsters, the hometown boys with a large Rocky Mountain following, to return to Red Rocks Amphitheatre this summer — a venue the band has sold out seven times.
Friday’s concert at the Ogden Theatre brought back the Flobots (who performed at the first Denver Acoustic Christmas in December of 2011), newcomer Zach Heckendorf and Big Head Todd and The Monsters; who unbeknownst to fans performed with a very ill Todd Park Mohr. Mohr, who according to band members had been feeling sick all day, was rushed out of the venue immediately following their set to receive medical attention.

Unless the world ends on Dec. 21, Denver-based folk band, the Lumineers, will be 2013’s first Saturday Night Live musical guest. This performance comes in the wake of two surprising Grammy nominations for the band and an all around awesome 2012.
