With personnel changes over the past few years, Akron/Family’s sound has evolved from a sort of modernized freak folk into a solid post-rock bulldozer.

You can really open up some new horizons this week — the best shows in Denver are going to be straight up weird.

Winston Yellen has never played a show in Colorado, never seen a band at the Hi-Dive, where he headlines with his band Night Beds on Wednesday, fresh off of a performance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” But he still considers himself a Colorado musician.

The Sasquatch Music Festival lineup has been announced, and along with indie favorite headliners like Vampire Weekend and the XX is Denver’s the Lumineers.

Akron/Family has announced a new album, and along with it a tour that includes a stop in Denver.
