The 16th Street Mall was the place to be this past Saturday as thousands of zombies and zombie hunters battled it out in the annual Denver Zombie Crawl.

The all-ages day of fright saw everything from zombie babies and emo hunters to elaborate costumes and make-up fit for the big screen. Themes were abundant in the costuming: walking-dead dictators, fairy tale zombies, and a cast of Pride and Prejudice zombies were among the hundreds that hung around at night to prolong the fun. The invasion began in the afternoon, and gallons of fake blood and gobs of gooey guts flooded the streets through nightfall, when the legal-aged zombies staggered their way into the nearest bar patio.
