The War On Drugs perform "Slave Ambient" songs on Mile Marker | Reverb — Reverb Music — The Denver Post

Mile Marker: The War On Drugs

We’ve been waiting all summer for the War On Drugs‘ second full-length, “Slave Ambient,” and we got a taste of it a few months back when they came through Uneven Studio to record a Mile Marker. “Baby Missiles” chugs along like a freight train and might remind you of another Philadelphia psych-folk act, Kurt Vile (who, himself, is a friend and studio partner of War On Drugs lead singer Adam Granduciel). Both have that nasally Dylan-esque twang in their voice and a penchant for wandering, shimmering guitar lines. The band stopped in a few hours before they last played the Hi-Dive, and they’ll be back there again on Oct. 30. Stream or download these four songs, perfect for a lazy summer evening.

[...] I’ve been in the basement of the Hi-Dive once and it creeped me out in the same way Kevin McAllister was creeped out by the basement furnace in “Home Alone.” The War on Drugs have put together a photo diary of their most recent tour in a contribution to Spin magazine. In the journal, the guys detail that the Hi-Dive’s green room is their favorite of the tour. The walls are tagged with band name/food puns. My contribution would be, “Band of Horseradishes.” In case you missed it, Reverb recorded a Mile Marker with the War on Drugs that you can check out here. [...]
