Video: Eric Peterson's "Breaking Out of Denver"

Eric Peterson is already a busy dude, playing as he does in local bands like Houses, but he also found the time to send us this video he made for a “Journalism and New Media” class at the University of Denver. It’s an “in-their-own-words” snapshot of different Denver media/industry types discussing how and why Nathaniel Rateliff (formerly known as the Wheel) got signed to Rounder Records — a label that will release his debut solo disc (“In Memory of Loss”) on April 17.

Yours truly kicks it off in full pontification mode before the video checks in with Tom Murphy, a music writer at Westword, and Rateliff’s manager, Barton Dahl, all talking about why and how some bands are able to make it outside of the Mile High City.

I'm about 99.99% sure Eric isn't in 200 Million Years.

It is good to see Eric get some recognition for his very ambitious undertaking with this video. He is an incredibly talented, sleep-deprived, passionate, potentially part-robot kind of guy and this video is testament to his immense abilities. Kudos for recognizing a true asset to the Denver music community.
