Photo essay: Little Feat, WhiteWater Ramble @ the Fox Theatre

Veteran fusion-rockers Little Feat performed at the Fox Theatre on Tuesday. Photos by Nathan Rist.

Little Feat, for all its L.A.-flavored studio fusion of blues, rock, jazz and folk over the years, has always remained a live performance band at heart. That’s been abundantly clear as the band continues to tour regularly — including a Tuesday show at the Fox Theatre with openers WhiteWater Ramble.

Reverb contributing photographer Nathan Rist navigated the unusually annoying crowd of drunk hippies and stoned 20-somethings to deliver this photo essay of the evening, just after the jump.

Would be nice if you got the photo caption for the first picture correct. That's Fred Tacket…Sheesh if you're going to cover a band you're not familiar with, at least do some research.

A rather odd start to the description of LIttle Feat's music: “…L.A.-flavored studio fusion..”.What the hell does that mean?Yeah, most of the other stuff was part of the equation, but you left out the most important parts, like Southern Fried New Orleans Funk! The caption under the picture calls them veteran fusion rockers. Well, they dabbled in fusion a touch towards the end of their first go around, but calling them a fusion band shows a pathetic lack of knowledge. It appears the caption writer hasn't a clue what fusion means. I suggest you look it up on alllmusic.com, where you will find plenty of bands like Return to Forever and Mahavishnu Orchestra listed, but not Little Feat.Having complained enough, I hope the show was great. They were all the times I saw them.
