As a fan, I'm familiar with their career and body of work to date. It seems inevitable that their sound would 'clean up' some, and I take it as evidence of creative and technical (and commercial) growth; all good things. With this band, what makes them magic to me is their earnestness and their ability to make me believe not just what they sing, but in who they are. Like you said, their sound is changing, and for more than one reason. It is still good music I believe in. Nice take on the Avett Brother's review John.
