And a good time was had by all. That's really the bottom line. All three bands played their hits, played them well and worked the crowd like true pros. (And Joe Elliott sounded OK to me.) No history was made that night, but everyone left with a smile firmly in place. Great bill at a fair price. That's not something you see every day. :)

I was at the show, and despite being a Cheap Trick fan, can honestly say that Trick's lead singer Robin Zander blew away Mr. Michaels and Mr. Elliot. Their voices lacked any power or range. Zander on the other hand sounds better than ever at 56 years of age. Cheap Trick doesn't do any pyrotechnics like Poison. They just play damn good rock 'n' roll and let their music speak for itself. "The Latest" is an amazing CD of songs, and "Sick Man of Europe" and "These Days" sounded great live.

Poison isn't my cup of decaf tea, but DL put on a good show despite Elliot's waning vocals. Lep fans are insanely loyal, and it was fun to be standing in a sea of them near the end of the catwalk. It was hard not to get caught up in their enthusiasm and sing along to my favorite DL song, "Pour Some Sugar On Me." Long live Rock 'n' Roll...no matter what band is headlining.
