The Wallflowers rocked the Denver Botanic Gardens last week. Photos by Lewis Cooper.

Jakob Dylan is known for many things. He’s the son of Bob Dylan. He often wears great, round-rimmed hats. And he fronts the soft-rock band the Wallflowers.

Dylan brought the Wallflowers to the Denver Botanic Gardens last week for a lulling set on a gorgeous night. Here’s Lewis Cooper’s photo essay on the evening.

This was a fantastic show. The Wallflowers have some of the best music out there, with beautiful lyrics and a wide musical range. They are excellent musicians, and when you add that to Dylan’s superb lyrics, the band played great song after great song. They played a high energy show, bringing in some older songs with new twists, and playing alot of songs familiar to the whole audience. They seem to really respond to the energy of the crowd, and everyone around me was really in to the show.

The photos posted here are excellent and capture a lot of the live excitement that I felt when I was there. The Wallflowers are not only excellent on stage, they’re very kind off stage, meeting fans and signing autographs. Thanks for coming to Colorado!
