I’ve been lucky enough to go to two of Levon’s Midnight Rambles at his home/studio in Woodstock, N.Y. and Jimmy Vivino played both of those gigs. The guitarist at Red Rocks was definitely not him, it was Jim Weider. I admit I was primarily there for Levon. While I recognize John Prine as a major talent, I would have preferred that his set was first and shorter. I found his material too samey melodically and chordally despite his lyric gifts.

Thanks for letting me know the name of the guitarist. Levon’s band site lists Vivino, and he kept mentioning Jimmy, so I thought that’s who it was.

Levon’s other guitar player on this night was the Master of the Telecaster… Jim Wieder. Awesome band! It’s always a painful read though, when a writer does a good review but gets band members name wrong.

A great nite of music.I am fairly sure that the other guitarist in Levon’s band was Jim Weider.Vivino is working on the Conan O’Brien show.
