The English Beat, formed in the U.K. 30 years ago, were at first considered a 2 Tone ska revival band — somewhat ironic, considering that’s right around the time the high-energy genre was starting to get on many people’s radars. Thursday at the Ogden Theatre, the band proved they were as relevant as ever as singer/founder Dave Wakeling led the crowd through Beat and General Public songs.
