Time for an intervention. This post needs one from a fan of both bands. Light needs to be shed on what's happening onstage that might be causing this writer's misunderstanding of angels and airwaves. They are not religious. But when I buy a ticket for $49 bucks I do want to have a religious experience. It's much more likely they are trying to take you somewhere, and for that to happen, they have to lead the way. So where was your ticket going to take you before you had your temper tantrum in the airport? It's important to know where Tom is coming from. With over ten albums Blink 182 was one of the biggest bands in the world at the time. Love them or hate them, you knew them. For the record most of you loved them. Problem is Tom wasn't the same person he was when they formed Blink in their teens. The childish message was getting a little tired for a now-married man with his own child. What was even more tiresome was not being able to see that child for over a year of touring. Wouldn't you give your head a shake and be like wtf am I doing? Money and fame isn't fulfilling for long when it's at the cost of loving relationships and closeness. And that's what Angels and Airwaves is about. Getting you to view your world in a different way, a better, more positive, fulfilling way.Tom refocused on his family, and came out with an identity and message more aligned with positive values. He's delivering it to us in a sci fi adventure filled way. If he looks like he's having a religious experience, it's because he probably is. We all are. Except the religion's message is more about caring, feeling alone is common and therefore you're not, and ideas like that rather than hard rules and doctrine. So he wants to take us on an adventure musically and lyrically, and his body gyrates congruently with that. Rather than attacking it, how about looking into it to see if you can figure out what it all means. One of the better forums I've been apart of is the ava movement. It's hands down the most positive I've been too, with a legion of fans that don't tolerate trolls and blind ignorance being spread like violence. As Tom says in one of the songs, spread hope like fire and love like violence. Now that's something I can get into, as opposed to the message in most hip hop songs.Misunderstand him all you want, but understand him as Jesus on the cross. That's just fucked up.

I'm surprised the 6,000 seat venue could even contain Tom DeLonge's ego!

I can just hear Weezer opening with "My Name is Jonas". It has such a good hardcore intro. One of my favorites, for sure.

Blue Album all the way!
