I don't mind people being critical of musicians if it is done correctly. Overall I think you gave credit to all the artists at the festival. The thing that I didn't get was you calling out Michael Franti and Spearhead. First, let me mention I am not a huge fan of theirs but I was there at the festival. It seemed to me they put on a pretty fun show. You say their music is uninventive which made no sense to me. Musically, I don't if any artists is inventive anymore because everything is in 4/4 time. Are John Mayer, O.A.R., Steve Winwood, or even Tom Petty really that inventive? Not really but I love all of them though. I would love for you to recommend some music that is inventive. Everything seems to be blends of different genres. By the way spearhead has hip-hop, rock, and folk to their style too. Lyrically, I think Michael Franti was one of the first ones to speak out against the world when it wasn't popular to do so. That alone I give props to him even if I may not agree with him totally. Also it seems their message seems to be about fighting the good fight. Which can't go wrong with that.
